Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers

These salmon burgers are so flavorful and are the perfect protein to pair with lunch or an easy dinner!

Canned salmon is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to incorporate more fatty fish and omega-3’s (which many people lack) in the diet. Omega-3's are beneficial for decreasing inflammation, supporting brain health and cognition, boosting immunity, and supporting heart health.

Next time your at the grocery store, grab a can of salmon and try this recipe out!

Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 8-12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 14.75oz can wild salmon, drain well **see note

  • 1 egg

  • 1/3 cup oat flour (can make by blending rolled outs in the blender until smooth)

  • 1 tbsp Za’atar seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2-1 tsp pepper

  • 2 tsp lemon juice

  • Optional: top each burger with cheese

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mash well with a fork.

  2. Form mixture into patties.

  3. Cook on the grill (or stovetop) over medium-high for about 4-6 minutes on each side until golden.

  4. Optional but suggested to top with cheese the last few minutes of cooking

  5. Other optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, cabbage slaw, avocado, aioli, etc!

*** NOTE: 🚨 canned salmon usually has a layer of skin and little bones in it. We know this may gross some people out BUT these are perfectly fine to eat and are actually highly concentrated in calcium and vitamin D (great for 🦴 health!) Once you mash everything together well with a fork, the bones break down and you can’t taste them.. but can also pick them out if preferred OR buy skinless, boneless canned salmon!
