Bell Pepper Hummus

Try this creamy and delicious bell pepper hummus! Homemade hummus only takes only a few minutes to prepare and this recipe only contains six simple ingredients.

Hummus is a great source of plant-based protein and fiber, which help you feel satisfied after you eat. Chickpeas are the main ingredient in hummus and are a great source of iron, magnesium, and B vitamins.

The addition of bell pepper packs in a ton of antioxidants like Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and potassium.

Use it on sandwiches and wraps, as a dip, and more!


Bell Pepper Hummus

Total Time: 5 minutes


  • 2- 1 15oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed (removing any excess skins)

  • 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)

  • 1/2 pepper (to taste)

  • 1 Tbsp Trader Joe's za’atar seasoning

  • 1 whole orange bell pepper

  • 1/4 cup olive oil, adding slowly while blending to desired consistency

  • Optional add-in’s: 1 clove garlic, juice from 1/2 a lemon, 1-2 tbsp tahini


  1. Add all of the ingredients to a high power blender

  2. Blend until smooth and add to a serving bowl

  3. Sprinkle with extra za’atar seasoning if desired

  4. Enjoy with warm pita wedges and/or your favorite veggies
